I'll Remember You

Recording and Instrumentation:
I decided to record an actual piano for this song. I set up my laptop, mic, and amp around my mom's piano with the mic on a stand hanging over the open top. The sound is much more satisfying to play and listen to than my keyboard. Next came the vocals, which I again used a funny GarageBand effect for. I like the harmony part on this, but my performance is less than stellar on it. Once again, you'd think I'd write things in my range, but no. The bass and strings came from my keyboard to fill out the harmony and make the instrumentation a bit more interesting.
Lyrics:
Long as I live you won't leave my mind
I will never quite get past the love that isn't mine
And I will never again see eyes so bright
And I will never delight so much in anyone's sight

Just as the Florentine loved one who was dead
Just as the Spanish knight loved someone in his head
So I too will remember you
So I too will remember you
So I too will remember you

Long ago your face seized my thought
And long I've dealt with the infliction that brought
And I will always remember those few kissed you gave
But there won't be anymore till I'm off to my grave

They say extended absense makes the heart grow fonder
But an eternity without you could not be any longer
But it's true I'll remember you
But it's true I'll remember you
But it's true I'll remember you

(Piano instrumental)

You're the glory of my unhappy days
As I long for your voice your hair and your gaze
And your image will forever torment my sleep
But I do not regret these feelings I'm doomed to keep

Just as the Florentine loved one who was dead
Just as the Spanish knight loved someone in his head
So I too will remember you
So I too will remember you
So I too will remember you

Song History:
I started out trying to write this song as a truthful account of my own feelings, but then it became rather fictionalized rather quickly. So basically, yes it was inspired by someone, but it is still a fictional song. That's all I really want to say.
