- Recording and Instrumentation:
- I started this recording just as a way of seeing how the different guitar parts to a chord progression I was working with fit together. So I started with the capoed guitar that you hear in the beginning, then added the lower part and the very high plucked part. I then decided I liked the song enough that I wanted to expand it, so I added the hand percussion in as well as the vocal tracks which I wrote on the spot. I decided I needed some sort of extra instrumentation in the middle and end, and I thought an accordion would fit in nicely. The whole recording was made in my dorm room using GarageBand with my computer's built in microphone, hence the constant hissing and occasional background noise.

- Lyrics:
- We ride
We ride
Come now and ride with us
Come now and ride with us
And we ride across the desert
For all eternity
Wind and rain they cannot hurt us
On the backs of our not so noble steeds
(Accordion instrumental)
You my friend are bound to join us
Though you try to hide your face
You will find you'll grow to love it
The never ceasing never slowing pace
Ride
Ride
- Song History:
- This is one of my "write the song as you are recording it" songs. I only had the three guitar tracks planned out when I started to record. The vocal and accordion parts were written in the few moments before I went to record them. This part of the reason why the lyrics make so little sense. Though I have been reading the Divine Comedy lately, so I think there are some undertones in there of sinners being eternally punished.
- Recorded on: 19 October 2006
